Have you ever thought of a Destination Celebration for New Year’s?  Do you love football?  If so, you have every reason to reserve your bed and breakfast guestroom here at Avenue Inn for New Year’s Eve 2012 in New Orleans, and stay for the Allstate Sugar Bowl match-up on January 2, 2013!

Enjoy one of the many great area restaurants for dinner, and then take the streetcar just outside the inn to the Vieux Carre, and convene in Franklin Square.  The excitement begins in the late evening – around 9 pm – and continues on up to the main event, when a mystery-item is dropped from 5 stories up on the Jax Brewery building to signal the start of the new year. (It is always a mystery of what the item will be – in years past it has been a Fleur-de-Lis, a Bacchus Baby, and an LSU Baby, among other things.)

No sooner does the New Year begin than fireworks light the sky over the river, welcoming 2013 with a bang!

As the first hour of 2013 continues, what better to do when in the French Quarter than visit Bourbon Street and the surrounding area!  The clubs will be rocking, celebrants will be celebrating, and thanks to the nighttime lows only reaching the mid- to upper-40′s on average, it will be easy to stay warm as you travel by foot between the locations.  Of course, dancing to the local DJs and bands will keep you warm as well.

When you are ready to return to your cozy, quiet room, call for a taxi and enjoy the short ride back to 4125 Saint Charles Street.  While our continental breakfast is available the following morning, you are welcome to sleep as late as you’d like if you are not checking out!  Spend January 1 recovering from the lively celebration, and then enjoy January 2, 2013′s Allstate Sugar Bowl football game and get caught up in the rivalries and the continued excitement.  Don’t have a ticket to the game?  There are several casual restaurants and sports bars in the area who will be featuring the game on big-screen.

Rooms are still available at our Uptown NOLA inn for these events and dates!  Please note that minimum stay requirements are in effect for this time of the year.  Call for more details and to to make reservations, and we look forward to your visit!
