Here in NOLA, you’re bound to find an event or festival going on, no matter which weekend you visit!  While we’ve talked about many of these events in the past, you may be interested in updated dates and features for this summer’s big events.  Avenue Inn invites you to be our guest during any and all of these fun goings-on.

THIS WEEKEND!!!

20th Annual New Orleans Wine & Food Experience this weekend, May 22-23-24-25, 2013.  Featuring local food and chefs, and wines from 175 wineries all over the world.  Enjoy special wine dinners at area restaurants, tastings, food pairings, live entertainment and more!  Limited tickets to featured activities are selling quickly – make your plans today!  Proceeds go to a number of area non-profit organizations.

40th Annual Greek Fest on  May 24-25-26, 2013.  For anyone with Greek Heritage, or for those who simply have an appreciation for the Aegean culture.  Featuring food, music, dancing, and more!

Coming this summer:

New Orleans Oyster Festival:  June 1, 2, 2013.  Bring your appetite and enjoy oysters prepared by a number of area restaurants… all in one place!  Live music and various events happening all weekend, including an anchor performance by the Gin Blossoms on Sunday, June 2.

Louisiana Cajun Zydeco Festival:  June 8, 9, 2013.  Regional food and live music on two stages, with some special guests!
French Market Creole Tomato Festival (http://www.frenchmarket.org/event/annual-creole-tomato-festival/): June 8, 9, 2013.  Right next door to the Cajun Zydeco Festival is the French Market.  This weekend, the Tomato Festival features fresh Creole Tomato sales and cooking demonstrations.  Of course, the Market also features traditional shopping in both the Farmer’s Market, and our traditional booths.

Tales of the Cocktail:  July 17-18-19-20-21, 2013:  Mixology event for professionals and enthusiasts alike.  Activities include dinners, seminars, field trips, tastings, and more.

COOLinary New Orleans:  August 2013:  A month of dining specials at 50 restaurants throughout the city for the entire month of August!

Satchmo Summer Fest:  August 1, 2, 3, 4, 2013:  THE Jazz festival of the year with tons of music, food, dancing, seminars, and fun!
