Red beans and rice Mondays- so nice!

Monday is the traditional Red Beans and Rice on the menu day. It is an old custom from the time when ham was a Sunday meal and Monday was washday. A pot of beans with leftover ham could sit on the stove simmering all day Monday to be the evening’s meal.

Staying at a B&B in New Orleans

If your last stay at a major hotel was anything like my last stay, it left much more to be desired. For starters, the price to quality ratio was off kilter, the décor reminiscent of summer at grandmothers, and what is with the extreme sheet tucking?
