CHECK-IN TIME:
Plan your arrival for 3:00 P.M. or after. However, we can
accommodate your luggage if you must arrive before this time or just
want to get a head start on your visit (which we recommend). We do
not schedule arrivals, but we want to know your approximate arrival time
so we can be available to greet you and check you in. In certain
instances, especially late at night, we can arrange to leave you a key
to the front entrance and to your room in a secure location. If your
arrival time changes due to weather or other delay, please keep us
updated so we can arrange a quick and stress-free check-in.
CHECK-OUT TIME:
Our check out time is 11:00 A.M. which affords us the opportunity to
prepare our rooms for arriving guests. You wanted your room ready when
you arrived, remember? However, do not feel pressured to leave.
Arrangements can be made to store luggage for late departures from the
airport. You can relax in our parlor, people watch from the veranda or
spend a little more time shopping if you wish. Hey, they don't call it
the Big Easy for nothing!

View of New Orleans from the Westbank
of the Mississppi.
DIRECTIONS:
From
I-10 (east or west), exit Business 90/Westbank Expressway, then exit
Carondelet/St. Charles Avenue off-ramp. Go to the second light and turn
right. Proceed approximately 1.9 miles to 4125 St. Charles Avenue. Here is the best solution
we've found to finding your way here: bring a cell phone and call us
when you get close. We'll give you more instructions. Joe has even been
known to run out on to St. Charles Avenue to flag you down!
PARKING:
Limited off street parking on premises is available at no additional
charge or park in front of the Inn on St Charles. The neighborhood is
residential with a few restaurants in our immediate area. Many residents
park on the street. As would be the case in any area in the country, we
remind you to remove any valuables and lock your car. We park our car on
the street, if you were curious.
NON-SMOKING FACILITY:
Smoking
is prohibited anywhere on the premises. We do try to accommodate the allergy and health requests of all
of our guests. Asking that you not smoke is appropriate for everyone's
comfort. The smell left by smoke is difficult to remove and therefore we
automatically apply a $250 charge to anyone's account who may have
smoked in their room. That guest will also be asked to check out
immediately and the remainder of the room charge will be forfeited. So,
if this requirement is too stringent for you, by all means let us assist
you with a recommendation for accommodations that are less restrictive.
PETS
AND CRITTERS:
Sorry, we love pets but they are not appropriate for our house. We
can refer you to pet care facilities that accept your family friend
during your visit to New Orleans. So why not stay with us and give your
pet a bit of a vacation, too. Let us know how we can be of assistance.

Blacksmith Shop and Bar. said to be one of the oldest buildings in New
Orleans.
GUESTS
WITH MOBILITY CONCERNS OR DISABILITIES:
Guest
rooms are located on three levels accessible by our grand staircase that
features original hand carved appointments and detailing. The entrance
has a granite staircase. The historical value of these rooms and
stairways has not been disturbed. Our ADA accessible room is
available with ramp access from our complimentary off-street parking
area at the rear of the Inn.
EMERGENCY SYSTEMS:
Our
bed and breakfast facility is equipped with modern sprinkler and fire
alarm systems for our guests' safety. Each room has a phone and contact
with a management staff member is possible at all hours.
FAMILIES WITH YOUNG
CHILDREN:
The
Avenue Inn may not be suitable for younger children under 12. Please
inquire with the innkeepers prior to completing your reservation.
UNUSUAL REQUESTS:
OK, you want to do something a bit unusual for that special someone. Or,
you need to locate cypress knees to take back home for that coffee table
project you've always wanted to start. Perhaps you want some real Cajun
eats shipped to your mother-in law (some say alligator tastes just like
chicken). Well, just ask, and "ye shall receive." Of
course it must be legal and within reason. We'll find
out about it or get it for you, for a modest fee, if it involves the purchase of goods or
services. Go ahead, make our day with your request. We love the
challenge!
