"This was our first trip to New Orleans and the perfect place to celebrate a milestone birthday. We spent four nights at this wonderful bed and breakfast and could not have asked for more. Joe and Bebe were available to us whenever we needed them. The location of this B&B was perfect with the streetcar right out front. We will definitely return to New Orleans and the Avenue Inn!"

CHECK-IN TIME:
Plan your arrival for 3:00 P.M. or after. However, we can accommodate your luggage if you must arrive before this time or just want to get a head start on your visit (which we recommend). We do schedule arrivals by appointment. We want to know your approximate arrival time so we can be available to greet you and check you in. We do not have a front desk and the doors to the Inn are not open to the general public. In certain instances, especially late at night, we can arrange to leave you a key to the front entrance in a secure location. If your scheduled arrival time changes due to weather or other delays, please keep us updated so we can arrange a quick and stress-free check-in.
CHECK-OUT TIME:
Our check out time is 11:00 A.M. which affords us the opportunity to prepare our rooms for arriving guests. You wanted your room ready when you arrived, remember? However, do not feel pressured to leave. Arrangements can be made to store luggage for late departures to the airport. You can relax in our parlor, people watch from the veranda, or spend a little more time shopping if you wish. Hey, they don't call it the Big Easy for nothing!
PARKING:
Limited off-street parking on premises is available at no additional charge, or park in front of the Inn on St Charles. The neighborhood is residential with a few restaurants in our immediate area. Many residents park on the street. As would be the case in any area in the country, we remind you to remove any valuables and lock your car. We park our car on the street, if you were curious.
NON-SMOKING FACILITY:
Smoking is prohibited anywhere on the premises. We do try to accommodate the allergy and health requests of all of our guests. Asking that you not smoke is appropriate for everyone's comfort. The smell left by smoke is difficult to remove and therefore we automatically apply a $250 charge to anyone's account because they may have smoked in his or her room. That guest will also be asked to check out immediately, and the remainder of the room charge will be forfeited. So, if this requirement is too stringent for you, by all means let us assist you with a recommendation for accommodations that are less restrictive (like a nearby hotel with a smoking floor).
PETS AND CRITTERS:
Sorry, we love pets but they are not appropriate for the mansion. We can refer you to pet care facilities that accept your family friend during your visit to New Orleans. So why not stay with us and give your pet a bit of a vacation, too. Let us know how we can be of assistance.
GUESTS WITH MOBILITY CONCERNS OR DISABILITIES:
Guest rooms are located on three levels accessible by our grand staircase that features original hand carved appointments and detailing. The entrance has a granite staircase. The historical value of these rooms and stairways has not been disturbed. Our accessible room is available with ramp access from our complimentary off-street parking area at the rear of the Inn.
EMERGENCY SYSTEMS:
Our bed and breakfast facility is equipped with modern sprinkler and fire alarm systems for our guests' safety. If you are shopping around for accommodations, we suggest that you inquire as to the type of fire protection our competitors are providing and if their structure is made from wood. You should consider selecting a fire-protected building like the Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast. Each guest room has a phone and contact with a management staff member is possible at all hours.
FAMILIES WITH YOUNG CHILDREN:
We love families with children five years old and up. We may not be suitable for toddlers and babies. Please inquire with the innkeepers prior to completing your reservation to determine if we can accept your child. Our goal is a restful undisturbed evening for all of our guests.
UNUSUAL REQUESTS:
OK, you want to do something a bit unusual for that special someone. Or, you need to locate cypress knees to take back home for that coffee table project you've always wanted to start. Perhaps you want some real Cajun eats shipped to your mother-in law (some say alligator tastes just like chicken). Well, just ask, and "ye shall receive" (help with finding these things). Of course it must be legal and within reason. We'll find out about it or get it for you, for a modest fee, if it involves the purchase of goods or services. Go ahead; make our day with your request. We love the challenge!
