Labor Day Weekend in New Orleans is Southern Decadence

For the past 40 years, Labor Day weekend in New Orleans has been the home of the Southern Decadence celebration. Once again, August 31- September 5, 2011, the Big Easy will hold it’s annual Gay Pride weekend and its great fun for participants and guests to New Orleans Bed and Breakfasts as well. sdposter2011web

The Crescent City is gearing up for one of the largest Decadence celebrations in the history of this event expecting to bring in over 135,000 revelers in 2011. This “end of summer Celebration of Gay Life, Music and Culture” has received much acclaim in recent years throughout the United States due to the national marketing efforts of local and national businesses who support the event.

We have found over the years, that you don’t have to be Gay to enjoy the fun. There are parades through the French Quarter that every visitor to the city can enjoy. Keep in mind, that these are generally “adult viewing” events and may not be appropriate for young kids and teens.
