New Orleans Seafood Festival a Great Catch for Visitors to the Big Easy

For the fifth year in a row, visitors to New Orleans and locals alike will dive into the “Louisiana Seafood Festival” at Lafayette Park downtown on Friday, Saturday and Sunday Sept 9,10 & 11 2011.  We went last year and had a blast sampling all the food and tasting the great local beers that were offered.

This year we have New Orleans Bed and Breakfast guests that have already made plans to visit the festival to enjoy the great food, beverages and the full line-up of local music legends.

The Louisiana Seafood Festival celebrates everything “food” in NOLA, and a large number of our cities chefs bring offerings to the event.   And its all for a good cause. Money from the event goes to the hospitality industry to sponsor educational opportunities for high school and college students.

What might you find there?  All the city’s food and drink staples and more, including Po-boys, Cajun dishes, oysters and shrimp in dozens of forms, gator, barbecue, snowballs, ice cream, daiquiris, and full bars (to name a few)!

And, second only to food in this town, let’s not forget the music!  Some of the area’s most talented performers will be bringing jazz, blues, swing, and more!

For a complete list of participating restaurants and musicians, see the official Seafood Festival website.

You still have time to make plans to be with in September. Our Uptown Garden District Bed and Breakfast as some great rates and packages from which to choose.
