Find Holiday Spirit at NOLA Celebration in the Oaks 2013

The city of New Orleans officially invites you to get into the Holiday Spirit NOLA-style this season.  Beginning on November 29, 2013 and continuing through January 4, 2014 City Park hosts a Crescent City tradition: Celebration in the Oaks, and Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast would love to host your stay during this magical experience!

Get caught up in the magic of the season with lights, music, and NOLA charm!  Each night, thirteen acres of the park light up with too many lights to count.  Seriously, you’ll see the glow from miles away!  The Live Oaks are draped with them, both traditional and new light displays are placed throughout the park. The Botanical Garden also plays host to lights, and both Storyland and Carousel Garden will beckon you with their bright welcomes.  Take a ride on the Carousel and other Storyland rides, and see the sights from the train that runs through the Park.  Find ideas for your own Christmas tree from the decorated trees on site, adorned by schools and non-profit organizations.

To get to City Park, you can either take the streetcar/bus system, or drive.  Ample parking is available in the Park’s new parking areas!  While the public transportation is perfect for a daytime visit, we want to keep our guests as safe as possible.  On that note, we will say that if you visit after dark to see the lights, driving will be the safest way to and from the Inn.

The festival is open from 6pm to 10 pm, Sunday through Thursday; and 6pm to 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays.  Admission is $8 per person, with $4 train rides and $3 single-ride Storyland Park tickets.  A $17 unlimited ride band includes the train.

Celebration in the Oaks is the perfect Holiday sight for both the young, and the young at heart.  Arguably one of the most gorgeous light displays in the entire Country, we urge you not to miss this NOLA destination during your late-year getaway to Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast!

Please note that the event is closed on December 24 and December 31.
