This is a spectacle you won’t want to miss. Thursday, April 19, 2018 will mark the arrival of Tall Ships  into ports on the Mississippi River here in New Orleans.

The magnificent ships from the U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, Great Britain, and Canada, estimated to arrive sometime between 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., are a kickoff to NOLA Navy Week and part of this year’s Tricentennial celebration. The visit culminates years of planning with the cooperation of the U.S. Coast Guard, Whitney Bank, and the New Orleans Tricentennial Tall Ships Committee—no small feat!

The ships will dock at three locations: the Port of New Orleans, Woldenberg Riverfront Park at Audubon Aquarium of the Americas, and Governor Nicols Street Wharf. While in harbor, the ships will be open to the public and free to visit. Hours of visitation will vary, so be sure to check the Tall Ships schedule when planning your trip. In addition to these Tall Ships, there will be three schooners docked at Pontchatrain Landing that will be offering 90-minute day sails and two-hour twilight sails.
